For our 2023 Holiday Campaign, New Flower Coffee Company Ltd. was proud to partner with a monumental and impactful global pan-Africanist non-profit organization (I Heart Africa) dedicated to supporting women, children, and fostering self-sustainability in the heart of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This year, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of our 227g bags of roasted coffee beans was donated directly to the Lumumba Village Project, a transformative ongoing initiative focused on community empowerment, sustainable development, and educational enrichment.
The Lumumba Village Project is a groundbreaking and sustained effort led by world-renowned activist and philanthropist Chakabars, with a clear mission to build a self-sustaining community in the heart of the DRC. This project focuses on equipping the local population with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to thrive independently. At its core, the project is built around three key pillars: enrichment, empowerment, and education, with a long-term vision to create lasting solutions for the women and children of the DRC.
Through purchases made during the period between December 24th to December 31st, our customers were able to directly contribute to the development of critical infrastructure, access to education, healthcare, and initiatives that promote financial independence for the people of Lumumba Village.
The funds raised from the sale of our coffee (227g bags of various Ethiopian & Haitian bean varieties) was directed towards supporting this vital work. The impact is not only immediate but also long-lasting, as the project’s continued focus on self-sufficiency ensures that future generations in Lumumba Village will have the tools to prosper independently.
By partnering with I Heart Africa, New Flower Coffee Company has partly contributed to a larger movement of empowerment and global solidarity, raising awareness of the challenges faced by the people of the DRC while working together to create meaningful, lasting change.
